Jachna is known for his innovative approaches to photographing nature. In Door County, which is Jachna’s most
significant series, he deviates from traditional landscape photography by
inserting himself into the picture frame. Here, his hand clutches a mirror,
which reflects a fragment of the landscape pictured, emphasizing the
photographer’s role in the image-making process.
