New York, by 1976]; purchased by Audrey Jones Beck, Houston, 1976; given to MFAH, 1976.

[1] Michel was the son and only heir of Claude Monet.

[2] Granoff opened Galerie Larock-Granoff in 1924. She was friends with Michel Monet and sold a number of works from the estate on his behalf.

[3] Knoedler acquired two Monet Japanese bridge paintings at the same time from Granoff, according to the gallery’s stockbook. The Bareiss painting is no. 6357 and was sold to him on 6 June 1956.
