his career, Eliot Porter championed both color photography and nature
conservation, using one in service of the other. A vivid study of color and
texture, Porter’s extraordinarily saturated Hoh Rain Forest, Washington
brilliantly renders the lush green trees, moss, lichen, and ferns that form one
of the largest temperate rainforests within the United States.
