1992, the Houston-based photographer Amy Blakemore received a grant to travel
to sacred pilgrimage sites throughout Europe. Blakemore’s Plaza, Lourdes,
France echoes the distance she perceived between herself, a nonreligious
person, and the devout pilgrims in search of miracles whom she encountered
throughout her journey.
