- Center Table

The center table was an important piece in the furnishing scheme of the Rococo Revival parlor. Often made en suite with large parlor sets (see B.81.9.1–.10), the form is characterized by bold cabriole legs and crossed stretchers, often ornamented with a central finial or carved basket of flowers, as here. That this table is round rather than oval and the top inset places it outside the norm.
