DescriptionSo-called Brussels carpet, popular beginning in the early 1800s, was an industrially produced, looped-pile carpet. Kidderminster, England, was a major center for its production. Wilton carpet was a similar product with a cut pile and a velvety surface.

Corliss (1817–1888), Providence, Rhode Island; Charles Brackett (1892–1969), Providence; Corliss-Brackett House, Providence; Brown University, Providence; purchased through [Nino Scotti, Associated Appraisers, Inc., Providence], as agent for Miss Ima Hogg, 1971; given to MFAH, 1971.
