DescriptionA popular favorite of Parisian high society, Huët’s style and subject matter are largely derivative of the great proponent of French Rococo, François Boucher. Huët painted numerous pastoral landscapes, and this idyllic scene dates from the most productive period of his career. Ironically, Huët painted the calm, peaceful Landscape with a Shepherdess and A Boy Fishing during some of the darkest moments of the French Revolution.
