This rare map documents for the first time the immigration of Americans into the Texas region of Mexico. Their presence is noted not only with the vast land grants that are delineated in color but also by the newly founded towns of San Felipe de Austin, Harrisburg, and Brazoria, as well as the older settlements at Bexar, Goliad, and Nacogdoches.
