Clark Winter claims that his day job in geopolitics was simply a way to fund his true passion: art. As he flew around the world as a consultant, Winter photographed continually, honing his eye and approach through careful practice and the consultation of artist friends. For Winter, this humorous and mysterious scene captured on a New York City street is symbolic of photography itself; it captures the wonder and excitement of looking and the eagerness to know what’s just beyond the frame.
