1 Norman Leitman was an art dealer in New York, London, and San Diego. He was co-founder of the Shickman Gallery in New York in 1964 with Herman Shickman. In the last several years Leitman along with Todd Butler have been collecting prints, particularly from the Mannerist period. After their retirement in 1998, Leitman and Butler moved to San Diego, California. Leitman commissioned the print dealer, Robert (Bob) M. Light, to find a buyer for their collection of Mannerist prints and many were acquired by Charles Hack in New York. Another part of their collection was sold in 2001 at Galerie Kornfeld, Graphik, Handzeichnungen Alter Meister in Bern (Cats. 94-109, 111-114, 116-185), prints presented as “Dutch Mannerists circa 1600.” Other prints were with other dealers on the art market or given to the Museum of Art in San Diego or the Fogg Art Museum at Harvard University in Cambridge.
