DescriptionFor the artist Iké Udé, the self-portrait series Sartorial Anarchy explores, “a world
of dualities: photographer/performance artist, artist/spectator, African/postnationalist, mainstream/marginal, individual/everyman, and fashion/art.” These hyper-saturated photographs are carefully crafted, with each detail chosen by the artist. Grounding conceptual ideas of performance and repre- sentation with selected fashions from across the world and time, Udé creates an enduring, global, and fashionable self-image.
