DescriptionTo the dismay of an earlier generation, rock and roll music became fully entrenched in the culture of the Baby Boomers. Perhaps even more distressing and mystifying was the hip-twisting dances that accompanied this newly charged music. In this photograph, Harvey Lloyd captured a young African American woman, likely in Harlem, indulging in this new form of entertainment.
