DescriptionThis teapot was formed by using press molding technology. The body, lid, spout, and handle were all created in separate molds. The pattern is called agate ware, a type of pottery made to resemble agate. Different colored clays were combined to imitate the veining of the hard stone. It was made by the ancient Romans and revived in the 18th century in Staffordshire, England.
