Exhibition History[possibly] part of the May 1890 Society of Painters in Pastel exhibition, at Wunderlich Gallery, New York. It may have been titled Coal Dock in which case it is referenced in a New York Times review of the show. “[Twachtman’s] ‘Cliffs at Newport’ is not, however, so much of a sketch, yet is one of the best drawings shown. ‘Sailboats,’ ‘Coal Dock,’ and the ‘Mary Ann’ are delightful marines touched in with spirit, but not made tedious.” [“Painters in Pastel,” New York Times, May 5, 1890, p. 7.]
