There are hardly any pink bits left. Before the War you just had to look at the map. There were marvellous pink bits all over, India, Africa, the Isles, one fourth of the world was pink, English.

Description

Each
image in Karen Knorr’s series portrays a resident of London’s high-end
Belgravia neighborhood paired with culturally and socially loaded text drawn
from an interview with the person portrayed. Although each person reviewed and
approved the quotation that accompanied his or her portrait, Knorr’s
upper-crust subjects seem unaware of how their remarks might be interpreted by
people of different backgrounds or social strata.
