DescriptionOffering sobering meditations on the horrors of war, each of Diettes’s Sudarios (Shrouds) portrays a Colombian woman who had been present at the torture and murder of a loved one. The closely cropped, larger-than-life black-and-white portraits were made while the women, most of whom have their eyes closed, were speaking at a moment of great vulnerability.
