DescriptionThis wood beam comes from the upper register of a cenotaph, or a monument memorializing the deceased. The carved and painted inscription in thuluth script reads: “in the name of Allah, the Clement, the Merciful, praise be to Allah, Lord of two worlds, blessing and peace on the best of creation, Muhammad and his family.”
