Object Type
DescriptionChairs made for children were not common in seventeenth-century America. This one follows the lines of ones made for adults. Its inverted baluster finials and front-post terminals together with light proportions, however, suggest a somewhat later date.
Provenance[Lillian Blankley Cogan Antiques, Farmington, Connecticut]; purchased by Miss Ima Hogg, October 1, 1953; given to MFAH, by 1966.
