DescriptionThe image on this teapot is of the United States Capitol building in Washington, D.C. As soon as the architect Charles Bulfinch’s dome was raised, numerous engravings and color lithographs were printed. Objects as diverse as Staffordshire pottery, jacquard coverlets, embroidered pictures, and candelabra were created using these prints.
