DescriptionBorn in 1833 in Indiana, William Wilson was active in Texas by 1870. His pottery was near Alton in Denton County, Texas. This jug bears the advertising label of S. W. Kanady, who owned a saddlery and hardware store in Denton.
Provenance[Jon St. Clair, Austin]; purchased by William J. Hill (1934–2018), Houston, 2010; given to MFAH, 2012.
