DescriptionThe design is based on William Russell Birch’s print of Mount Vernon’s east front published in 1808. In the right foreground, a man wearing a hat, jacket, pants, and shoes is holding the reins of a white horse.

Inscriptions, Signatures and Marks
Inscribed: Mount Vernon. Seat of the late Genl Washington.
Painted on the underside is "259" above a heart-shaped device below.
Label on bottom: "Wm. H. PLummer & Co., Ltd.,/New York City/ANTIQUE DEPT," with an inscription, "Newhall" and "C. 1800."
