Espinoza pertenece a una generación de artistas conceptuales
venezolanos que irrumpe cuestio- nando el legado del constructivismo. El
artista procura desestabilizar, aquí, la coherencia estructural de la pintura
ortogonal que otros artistas, en esta galería, favorecen. El gran cuadrado
parece caerse al piso, revelando la propia naturaleza y la flexibilidad formal
del lienzo crudo no estirado. La obra implica una subversión performática de la
cuadrícula y del cuadrado, intrínsecos a modalidades del constructivismo y la
abstracción geométrica.
