ProvenanceFormer Château de Golleville in Normandy (Manche), before 1930; purchased from an art dealer in Caen (Calvados) January 20, 1930 by [Lucien Demotte, Demotte Galleries, Paris and New York, 1930 (sent to New York on November 2, 1933)]; by inheritance, Mrs. Demotte, mother of Lucien, 1935; Demotte Estate, after 1938; sold to Nicolás Gonzáles, Mexico, on November 2, 1952, in exchange for other works of art, transferred to José A. Racaj Montemayor, Coyoacán, Mexico; purchased by MFAH, 1971.
