The Barbara Levine and Paige Ramey Collection was thoughtfully curated over the course of 30 years around a limited number of interwoven themes—including African American Studio Portraits, LGBTQ Life, Mexico and the Border, Altered Photos, Gun Culture, and Women Only. Each curated theme is punctuated by rare examples such as photo-booth strips, embroidered postcards, fotoescultura, ID badges, jewelry, and more. With an outstanding range of objects, the collection tells the unique and complicated story of high art and vernacular photography, and speaks to our shared photo-mania.
