BiographyPredominantly self-taught artist who lived and worked in Kansas and began drawing at the age of 68. Layton had a background in journalism and engaged visually as a social activist on sexism, ageism, and discrimination. She used her work as therapy during her struggle with bi-polar disorder and a serious depression following the death of one of her sons.
