BiographyAaron Blum (American, b. New Martinsville, WV, 1983) received his BFA in Photography from West Virginia University and his MFA in Photography from Syracuse University, where he was honored with a Syracuse Humanities Center Fellowship award. The artist lives in Pittsburgh, PA, and is an adjunct instructor at Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh Filmmakers, and West Virginia University.

Aaron's work has been seen nationally and internationally, including recent shows at Project Basho, Philadelphia; DUMBO Arts Center, Brooklyn, NY; and Wall Space Gallery, Santa Barbara, CA and Seattle, WA. This winter, he was included in THE FAMILY, an exhibition juried by Aline Smithson from Lenscratch, and on view at the Detroit Center for Contemporary Photography.

A 2011 juror's choice award winner for the project competition at Center, the Santa Fe Center for Photography, Aaron has also been included in the Magenta Foundation's USA selections for photographers to watch in 2012. He has been featured online in Fraction Magazine, Flakphoto.com, Conscientious, and the photo-eye Photographer's Showcase, as well as in Next Level 22 - Pittsburgh (London, 2012).
