BiographyCarl Christian Heinrich Kuhn (with umlaut over the u) or Kuehn (alternate spelling) was born on February 25, 1866 in Dresden, Germany and died on October 9, 1944 in Birgitz, Austria. After studying medicine in Innsbruck around 1880, Kuhn became completely engrossed in photography. An experimenter, he worked on improving lenses, developed a movable back camera, and in the 1930's, a double-emusion film. He founded a School of Photography in Innsbruck that ran from 1912 through 1916. He lived and worked in Innsbruck.Person TypePerson
