In 1985 the celebrated Japanese photographer Ikko Narahara was invited to Houston to produce a portfolio of photographs. During his time in town, Narahara was taken to the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo. It was at this annual spectacle that he produced his most dynamic and visually arresting photographs, combining his unique style of odd angles, unique juxtapositions, and extreme contrast with the Texas subject matter found at the rodeo. The result is a blend of cultures and aesthetics in one engaging image.
