PhotographyObject Type
of Lewis Baltz, Seung Woo Back has created a series of works photo-graphed at
Aiinsworld theme park of world architecture in Seoul, Korea. This photograph,
from his series Real World, features
models of the twin towers of the World Trade Center, which no longer exist. At
first, the viewer might be confused by the presence of Korean boats floating in
front of the skyscrapers of New York. As one’s gaze shifts from foreground to
background, it becomes evident that the world within the picture is staged. “As
the border between ontological reality and imagery reality becomes tightly
entwined in my pictures one might begin to wonder how the world is shaped in
our own imaginations,” said the artist.
