DescriptionAn itinerant artist, Thomas Flintoff traveled to various parts of Texas capturing its diverse terrain and buildings in beautifully-detailed watercolors. Although valuable documents of geographical history, these studies are also lovely artistic achievements of early Texas art. From a low vantage point across a creek, Flintoff depicts a rural church or residence with a colorful line of washing hanging in front. A woman in a red dress and white headscarf walks up the hill towards the building, possibly on her way home.
