Seething banks of smoke envelop the stern of the FRANKLIN as flames race through the interior of the ship. Men of the Cruiser SANTA FE watch in fascinated horror as they await the opportunity to lend a hand. Burning gasoline escapes out of the side of the ship, while a group of survivors clambore down a cargo net at the far left.
