Description

In this work, Maurício Nogueira Lima alternates yellow and
black bands at varying intervals to produce the virtual appearance of a spiral.
The rhythmic displacement of line and color creates an optical illusion of movement
on the two-dimensional surface and, at the same time, pushes the form into the
viewer’s space. In this way, Nogueira Lima establishes the artwork as a
physical object capable of communicating universal principles or ideas
perceptible by everyone.
