Description

As a professor at the Bauhaus and in his own practice in various media, László Moholy-Nagy felt unfettered by traditional materials and practices. His photographs challenge conventional conceptions of the medium to produce visually arresting results. Instead of photographing the impressive, modern engineering of the Pont Transbordeur (Transporter Bridge), Moholy-Nagy used a birds-eye view to turn the form of the transport barge against the water into a boldly modernist image.
