Jungjin Lee’s series of
photographs titled Thing offers a
quiet meditation on the essence of everyday objects. Isolating details, such as
here a hand-carved chair back, Lee focuses our attention on the grace of the
form and its woody texture. It simultaneously reveals her admiration of the
bold graphic strokes in the paintings of Franz Kline.
