of his own photographs of postwar architecture taken in and around Münster,
Germany, in 1987. The projections were made onto facades of buildings in the
old part of Münster at dusk until 3 a.m. at sites selected by Münster citizens.
By projecting portraits of modern buildings without any human figures, Struth
contemplates the history of the city, a majority of which was bombed at the end
of World War II. This series was commissioned as part of the 1987 Skulptur und Projekte Münster.
