Latin American ArtObject Type
the first known articulated, or jointed, structure produced in Latin America.
Kosice connects eight modular elements with hinges, allowing the work to be
manipulated by the viewer-turned-participant. Through direct, tactile
engagement, it becomes an autonomous, dynamic structure in constant
transformation. The work essentially does not exist unless the viewer interacts
with it. The invented title Röyi is a
playful, nonsense word underscoring the pure, spontaneous act of creation encouraged
by the piece.
