Object Type
DescriptionA water wagon has just rolled down Trongate Street to keep the dust down. A horse-drawn omnibus approaches the statue of King William III. Construction workers lay the sidewalk in front of the Tontine Hotel. Pedestrians examine the wares in a street peddler’s cart by the Old Equitable Loan Company. Thomas Annan has lugged his enormous camera to the top of Tron Steeple to record it all as part of a series titled “The Old Closes and Streets of Glasgow.” It is 2:24 in the afternoon.
