DescriptionThe drum of the candelabra is made of jasperware, a fine kind of porcelain first developed by Josiah Wedgwood. White in its natural state, the porcelain was stained with a metallic oxide-coloring agent to achieve shades of pale blue.
Provenance[J. A. Lloyd Hyde, New York]; purchased by Miss Ima Hogg, December 5, 1961; given to MFAH, by 1966.
