Object Type
DescriptionIn colonial America, cabinetmakers produced furniture with a bombé, or swelling base, form only in and near Boston. Dressing glasses of bombé form are very rare; only a few are known. This example includes a framed mirror that was probably made in England and fitted to the base later.
