DescriptionThis cut-paper picture by an unknown artist features an image of cupid whose arrow has just struck a heart suspended within a loop above a tree stump. Below is the motto “AMOR ETERNUS,” Latin for “eternal love.” The back of the frame bears the label of the New York firm of Joseph and John Del Vecchio, which specialized in frames and looking glasses.
