[1] The work is noted and illustrated in the 1962 exhibition catalogue, where it is referenced as “Paysage de Valmondois, collection particulière,” and dated to 1917. Current scholarship has revised work’s title and date of creation.
[2] One of three works the Becks purchased from the Galerie Philippe Reichenbach per the bill of sale dated June 29, 1963. [MFAH object file-accessed by Robert McD. Parker, April 2024.]. The paintings are Vlaminck (Landscape at Valmondois, MFAH 98.309); Utrillo (The House of Mimi Pinson in Montmartre, MFAH 98.305), and Raoul Dufy (Still life) from 1920, which was later sold by the Becks).
