Inscription: .A is inscribed in brown script beneath the image: "Japanese Officer in armour" and beneath that in pencil: "(Satsuma clan)". .B is inscribed in blue ink over pencil above: "Ashby School". There are arrows identifying two of the boys in the photo as: "RUP" and "H.P.".
