Inscriptions, Signatures and Marks
Inscription: There are two gallery labels on the back. One from Robert Miller Gallery, Inc., 724 Fifth Ave. New York; and one from Texas Gallery, Houston. There is a label for the Michael A. Caddell Collection. There is an exhibition label from the Whitney Museum of American Art indicating its exhibition # is RM.88.335.1 in the exhibition "Robert Mapplethorpe". It also lists: "Collection of Fredericka Hunter and Ian Glennie". The frame is stamped in red, verso, upper center: "Robert Miller Gallery Inc., / 724 Fifth Avenue, New York". The frame is stamped in black, verso, lower right: "Bark Frameworks, Inc. / 155 Wooster Street, New York".
The triptych is signed, titled and dated by the artist on the center backboard.
