DescriptionThe Philadelphia firm of J. E. Caldwell and Company retailed this sauceboat, which was probably the product of another manufacturer. Here, the restrained body of the form is outlined with combined border of guilloche and beading and accentuated at the handle’s terminal by a cast Renaissance-style mask.
