DescriptionThe simple shape of this vase is a support for the delicate, moody landscape painted by Sadie Irvine, one of the most famous decorators to work at the Newcomb College Pottery. It opened in 1894 to provide practical experience for ceramic students at Sophie Newcomb College in New Orleans. The students and graduates decorated the vessels produced by the workshop's master potter.
