Description

Philip Smith has long been fascinated by how modes of perception and communication can coexist in seen and unseen worlds. His Night Sky series combines scientific and metaphysical imagery, alluding to telecommunication, molecular structures, palmistry, and the cosmos above us. Smith explained: “In this particular body of work, I was concerned with two goals: creating an energy pattern that could be felt/experienced by the viewer, and creating a universe that the viewer could enter and experience. I’ve always believed that art should be transportive and transformative. It should take you somewhere and just maybe change your mind.”
