DescriptionAlthough silver child’s cups became popular as gifts in the nineteenth century, eighteenth-century examples are quite rare. Ebenezer Moulton came from a multi-generational family of silversmiths who worked in New England and beyond. In the nineteenth century, the firm, in the possession of Joseph Moulton (a collateral descendant), was sold to Anthony Francis Towle and William P. Jones, the forerunner of today’s Towle Silversmiths.
