In the great Sanskrit poem The Bhagavad Gita, Krishna, in
his incarnation as the warrior lord, speaks to his close disciple Arjuna on the
battlefield before the climactic struggle between good and evil. Krishna
promises that everyone who meditates on him at the point of death will come to
his kingdom. In Vrindavan, the devout chant and dwell upon Krishna in
preparation for receiving his ultimate reward—moksha.
