Description

Raro ejemplo del aporte de Matto en artes decorativas, Constructivo combina pictogramas tradicionales
del TTG (sol, hombre, caracol) con innovaciones (tetera, tractor, parras).
Hecha conjuntamente con el arquitecto Ernesto Leborgne, la parrilla
originalmente decoró una ventana residencial en la ciudad balneárea de Punta
del Este. La tendencia a incorporar obra constructiva en lo arquitectónico
empezó en la casa de Torres García, cuyos experimentos de integración plástica
resultaron en el primer estilo uruguayo de arquitectura moderna.

The back is painted in some areas white and grey, and the supports holding fragments together are observable. It is also signed and dated “MATTO 77” in the back upper left.
