DescriptionThe image on the center of this plate is after the engraving MacDonough’s victory on Lake Champlain, and defeat of the British Army at Plattsburg by Genl. Macomb, Septr. 11th. 1814 by Benjamin Tanner (1775–1848). It celebrates Captain Thomas Macdonough’s victory over the British on Lake Champlain.
